WOYWW #62 - I am sick of Bird Cages .....

it's been a long haul!

Hopefully though, as I have hit assemblage time, it won't be long and I can move on to something else - I am pretty sure you are now as sick of me blogging about Bird Cages as I am doing it.

I haven't had much time to devote to it this week, which is why it just seems like ages and ages, but I have had to do quite a bit of UKSTampers behind the scenses stuff and Stamp Galaxy work too, plus take the Toodles to the Summer of Sonic 2010 convention in London - this involved quite a bit of shopping to get her look - she went as a female Shadow the Hedgehog ... Shadette if you will.

This is her on stage taking part in the Cosplay competition.  Now, I would be the first to admit that I am definitely not a gaming fan, but even I had a good time .... especially when Crush 40 did a concert at the end .... just watching the joy on my Daughter's face was enough for me.

Anyhoo, I digress, back to the matter in hand WOYWW 62 .... and those flippin' Bird Cage Swap tags .....

and a close up of the birdies:

The usual mess abounds on my desk, but there are currently sitting on there a whole heap of embroidery silks:

I need to go through them and store them somewhere, but they are a very kind gift from MIL's nextdoor neighbour who has been diagnosed with Cancer and wanted her stuff to go to a good home.  How very sweet of her to think of me, and I think I may well just do one more Bird Cage Tag to say thank you.  Especially as I love the words that are going under the cage ..... not going to tell you just yet what they are though - although the colour of the bird and the cage die are a clue - can you guess?

Right off to do a bit more to these to try and put this project back in it's cage......  Thank you so much everybody by the way for the totally lovely comments last week, I did manage to get to most of the blogs, but just didn't have time to leave comments on all of them ,,,,, Fminus to me and I will try harder this week.

Why not grab a coffee and head off over to Julia's blog to see what all the other WOYWWers' have been up to.

Hugs

Kay

I can understand how you might be tired of the bird cages, but I love that die so much (wish I owned the machine to make it), that I would never tire of it, I don't think.

How sweet of your MIL's neighbor to give you all that embroidery thread. I bet she really would appreciate one of those bird cages (on a card, of course). Happy WOYWW,

Didnt realise you were galaxy girl! thanks for commenting on my blog - I get the candy striped string from www.stampeezee.co.uk - she is local to me but I am sure she does online ordering - the string is 99p for a reel (it comes wrapped a dolly peg which is ideal for me as thats how I store my ribbons!), I have red, blue and brown but there might be more colours too! Have fun shopping!

Oh I can't grow tired of the TH bird cage! I have it on my wish list. It will be fun to see the finished product with golden cages.
The embroidery silks are gorgeous, they are perfect for buttons on cards.

Hi, your birds are looking fantastic with all the feathers etc. Hope you manage to finish them soon or you will be dreaming of birds flying instead of counting sheep to sleep. Have a nice evening. Hugs Jo.xx

I'm new to WOYWW so I don't know how many birdcages you've done but they look lovely all painted so I imagine you are tired of doing them! I really don't like doing more than one of anything but sometimes it happens! Good luck! :) Nan

My daughter is big into Anime Cosplay, have laboured some hours fixing up costumes!! I feel your joy though. It's an amazing forum, especially for shy kids like mine.
Anyway - your desk is fab, incredibly organised and alarmingly tidy, but the birds/cages et al look stunning. I hope that the swapees appreciate your weeks of work!
