WOYWW #65 - Not everything one does goes to plan

or will necessarily be happy with ..... and the Jury is out on this one.

Base of cream cardstock coloured with Lyra watercolours in blue and yellow, and then blended with water ; wrinkle free Distress Ink technique over the top of that with Pine Needles ; blended DI Walnut stain around the edge and then added streaks of gesso here and there are a bit more Lyra and flicking water on the surface. Stamped French Script (Oasis) and PA Clocks Plate 5 in a mixture of Pine Needles and Walnut Stain.  The Old Paper DI rubbed over the entire thing.

I don't know where to go with it from here ... possibly a metal flower with my Hot Picks 1004?  The problem is I think that I was just playing ... and had no specific purpose and I don't seem to work well that way.  I should have been working on the UK STampers Silver Screen, Stage and Song Challenge instead - so I clearly need to focus.

Apart from that, desk retains the status quo .... mess, mess, MESS!!!! ~and I am pretty sure you won't want to be faced with that train wreck this time of a morn~.

There are tidy desks around, check some out over at Miss Julia's place.

You used some lovely stamps on that card. Since you teased us with "the jury," you will have to let us know next week who won and how. Happy WOYWW.

It's funny how others will see beauty in something you don't like yourself. I love the colours you've used on this one.

Ya see ... I need a weekly fix of your desk ... to make me feel ... well ... erm ... normal ... so I shall expect to see it back in all of it's messy glory next week :0)

We do like mess so please don't hide it and don't be ashamed. Why must I be the worst each week... because I'm not ashamed of anything I produce even the mess!
Your tag has great prospects and look forward to seeing it finished. You'd pay a few bob for that if you got it from Basic Grey! In fact you should offer it to them to reproduce!

I like this, just put it to the side for a bit and I am sure that something will occur to you to finish it. Happy WOYWW day.

I think it looks great - have you got any clock pieces or cogs to go on it? if you havent got metal cogs you could always emboss some die cut ones. I often make things with no direction and then put them to one side whilst I get on with something else and then suddenly inspiration will strike and I can finish it off so you could always try that tactic!

But isnt it great to just PLAY without a real purpose?

I think it looks like a great tag, but i know what you mean, i still have that embossed tag from last week sat on my desk waiting for inspiration lol
Wanna swap, you finish mine and i'll finish yours lol

I often have a crisis of confidence part way through a project. Unless I really like it I usually turn to my cheaper embellishments with the motto 'Don't throw good stash after bad'. Having said all this I'm sure yours will turn out beautifully.

Honestly, I love this tag. The colors work great together and the whole feel of the piece just seems right. Thank you for the detailed description! I have played with Lyra watercolors only once, have to do that again.

I bet you look at it differently when you see it tomorrow! I often do that. Sometimes even putting in somewhere else can help you to see it in a different light :-)

Can I see your desk next week too?!!

I like it - it's more than a start with all that effort alreaady in it!'time of my life' is part of a song from Dirty Dancing innnit - can you go down that route? Big shoes or a silhoutte dress or summat. Don't ask me, today's blog post is a big winge about grunge!

great layering of colors! when i'm not happy with something i made, sometimes i just set it aside and then when i feel like it, i continue working on it. this does look like it will look great as a collage with those rusted metal thingies or clock parts.
