WOYWW - when canes go bad!

I had a go at doing a millifiore cane last night, which is not that hard
to do .... but reducing it was difficult .... and cutting off tiny
slivers and keeping the shape even more difficult!!!!

In the end they ended up being really out of shape on the beads, and all
of a skew .... still, I', sure I will master it eventually.

I wonder what all the other WOYWWer girls and boys are up to .... I'm
off to Fair Queen Julia's to see.

Happy Wednesday.

Hugs

Kay

Great looking and creative space this week, thanks for sharing. I'd have given up ages ago; far too fiddly for me! Though from here they look great so well done!

I think canes are hard to do! Tried it once and said nope not for moi. You did a fantastic job and as they say practice makes perfect. ;) Warmly, Tracy #81

I couldn't even give you advice on this. Cane work seems a bit tedious to me. Lovely bead work!

Ah you have the patience of a saint Kay...for once, I might be able to help here...you need a deeper blade than your scalpel....something thin like a good old fashioned razor blade, it spreads the pressure and doesn't mis-shape as it slices. I have one with gaffer tape across the top edge and much wider than the blade to act as a bit of a handle...and slightly safer!!

I have never tried canes. I am not that good with clay. I'm sure your will figure it out in the end, though. Actually, they don't look all that bad to me.
